Both the July and August regular monthly meetings of the Upper Thompson Sanitation District will be marked by discussions dealing with the potential of increases in the structure metered and non-metered service rates, the district’s system development fee, and other rates and fees that could be effective in 2025.

The meeting will be held at 4 p.m. July 16 at the district’s offices at 2196 Mall Road. Arrangements to attend online or by phone can be made before 2 p.m. on July 16 by emailing Upper Thompson Board Secretary Gina Moore at gina@utsd@utsd.org to request a link or telephone number for the meeting.

According to District Manager Chris Bieker, after Upper Thompson Board members hear an engineering report about the planned water reclamation facility to be constructed just north of the current wastewater treatment plant, a discussion about the report will be held by the board. The meeting then will be open to public comment and questions.

Individuals will have a second opportunity to hear about plans for the treatment plant and a future rate structure during the district’s regular monthly meeting on Aug. 20. However, even before that, for a better look and understanding about the sanitation district, the public will have the opportunity to see the current plant and hear about future plans during Upper Thompson’s annual Open House scheduled to begin late the afternoon of Wednesday, Aug. 7.
