All around our town;
The kids have headed back to school,
The Bobcats are looking cool —
Let’s give a hometown cheer for a team near and dear.

Visitors stroll down Elkhorn Ave.,
With ice cream cones in hand,
And taffy by the bagful — getting their fill.
Cowboy Brad is singing out in Bond Park,
At seven as day turns to night;
Sunday, Monday, Tuesday too,
Through Aug. 18 — the last week for you,
With free tunes of the mountains as summer takes flight.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like autumn,
There’s construction all around;
The Stanley’s growing once again,
With new hotel rooms going in,
And a performing arts center rising from the ground.
The Stanley Chocolate Factory’s busy,
With something sweet in store;
A carousel they hope will spin
When Labor Day weekend rolls in —
Another reason to come through the door.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like autumn,
On the Elkhorn Lodge’s grounds;
A brand-new hotel is growing there,
While hammers echo through the air,
And construction seems to be all over town.
Even Raven Avenue is changing,
Behind the Expedition Lodge;
A Habitat home is framed at last,
Its walls are rising strong and fast,
A future home for neighbors soon to share.
It’s beginning to feel a lot like autumn,
Just look up at the trees;
A few tiny aspen leaves are turning gold,
And soon, as summer loosens hold,
Sunrise Rotary’s Autumn Gold will welcome fall to Estes with the breeze.
Yes, it’s beginning to feel a lot like autumn,
Though summer’s not quite through;
There are many visitors in town,
And activities abound,
But autumn’s little signs are starting to peek through.
And here’s a thought that might just make you wonder
How quickly time can fly:
Just 131 days till Christmas Day,
Friday, December twenty-fifth — oh my!
But first, let’s watch those Estes aspens
Turn the mountains gold beneath the Colorado sky.
