The Town of Estes Park is accepting applications for its 2027 Community Initiative Funding program, which provides grants to nonprofit organizations and other groups serving the Estes Valley.

The funding is intended to help meet community needs while supporting priorities established by the town board.

In 2026, the town received requests for $67,986 and awarded $20,000 in Community Initiative Funding. Grants are subject to budget approval by the town board and available funding.

Additionally, the town allocates base funding for general operations and overhead expenses to several nonprofit entities that play a critical role in supporting the town’s strategic plan. Allocations are based on available resources and town board goals.

In 2026, the town received $442,000 in requests from 10 organizations, and staff recommended $332,000 in funding. In 2025, the town provided $302,000 in base funding to qualifying organizations.

Organizations seeking 2027 funding must submit a completed Community Initiative Funding application and all required supporting documents by Aug. 31, 2026.

The town board is expected to review and prioritize funding requests during an October budget study session. Final awards are contingent on approval of the town’s 2027 budget in November.
