Town of Estes Park 2026 Christmas Ornament

The Town of Estes Park’s Helping Hands Committee has unveiled its 2026 commemorative holiday ornament, featuring Colorado’s state flower, the columbine.

Since 1986, town employees have produced an annual ornament to raise money for scholarships for local high school seniors and to assist community members in need through Crossroads Ministry.

The 2026 ornament is available for $17 at the Finance Department in Town Hall, 170 MacGregor Ave., and can also be ordered online. Ornaments from previous years are available at discounted prices. Beginning in August, the 2026 ornament will also be sold at Peak’s Hallmark, 459 E. Wonderview Ave., Suite 4, in Upper Stanley Village.

Shipping costs are $8 for one or two ornaments and $15 for three or four. Customers ordering five or more ornaments should call Karin at 970-577-3721 for shipping information. Click here for the online order form.

Guest teacher discovery day

The Estes Park School District will host a guest teacher discovery day on Tuesday, July 28, from 8 to 11 a.m. for community members interested in becoming substitute teachers.

The event is open to retired educators, college graduates, parents, professionals with flexible schedules, and others interested in supporting local classrooms. Attendees will meet district administrators over breakfast, hear from current guest teachers, learn about classroom expectations and district procedures, and receive information about qualifications, licensing, background checks, pay, and the hiring process.

Guest teachers earn $130 to $175 per day, depending on the assignment, and those who work 10 or more days in a pay period are eligible for a $400 bonus during the 2026-27 school year.
