A&E: This Weekend, July 10-12

After the whirlwind of Fourth of July festivities, this weekend offers a chance to catch your breath without running out of things to do. The crowds may be a little smaller, but the calendar is still packed. From the SnowyGrass Music Festival and the final nights of Rooftop Rodeo to artisan markets, outdoor concerts, and movie screenings, here’s what’s happening around Estes Park this weekend, July 10-12:

Find Waldo Around Estes Park

Where’s Waldo? All over Estes Park. Throughout July, Macdonald Book Shop invites families to take part in the annual Find Waldo Local scavenger hunt, sending participants in search of the famous red-and-white-striped traveler hidden inside more than 25 local businesses. Pick up a free Waldo Passport at the bookstore, collect stamps as you find each Waldo, and earn prizes along the way. Find 15 Waldos to receive a commemorative poster, or track down 20 to be entered into a grand prize drawing at the end-of-month celebration on July 31.

New ‘Minions’ movie at the Park Theatre

Did you know that the Minions from the “Despicable Me” franchise were also famous movie stars? That’s the crux of the new “Minions vs. Monsters” film, which opens at the Historic Park Theatre this weekend. The film centers on how the Minions conquered Hollywood, lose everything, and then summon monsters to try and get back into the studio system. “Minions vs. Monsters” is slated to play at the Park Theatre through Thursday, July 16. The Park Theatre also offers haunted ghost tours, history tours, and a ghost hunt on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, as well as psychic readings by Rebekah Blackburn throughout the weekend and a free screening of “Rango” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 11. 

Last Weekend: ‘FACE of Fiber’ & ‘Journey Through Colors and Textures’

Experience a vibrant mix of fiber art and painting at the Art Center of Estes Park’s current exhibits, “FACE of Fiber” and “Journey Through Colors and Textures.” The exhibition combines the annual fiber arts showcase with work by Astrid Paustian, whose paintings and mixed-media pieces use oil, acrylic, and fiber. Known for her increasingly abstract approach to landscapes and sense of place, Paustian’s colorful works complement the texture-rich creations featured in the fiber exhibition. The show remains on view daily through Saturday, July 11.

SnowyGrass Music Festival

Four days of bluegrass and Americana return to Stanley Park as the 11th annual SnowyGrass Music Festival kicks off today, Thursday, July 9, and continues Friday, July 10, through Sunday, July 12. The family-friendly festival features a lineup of Colorado and nationally touring artists, including Gasoline Lollipops, Bruce Molsky, Blue Canyon Boys, Yoseff Tucker & the Ascots, Sullivan Sisters, and Ragged Union. In addition to concerts, attendees can take part in instrument workshops, jam sessions, and campground pickin’ circles. Food trucks, on-site camping, kid-friendly activities, and panoramic mountain views round out one of Estes Park’s signature summer music weekends. Children 12 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult.

Live Music at The Slab

The Slab Outdoor Pub has a full weekend of live music lined up July 10-12. Nick Wagner opens the weekend Friday from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by Rambling Sam Perry from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday brings Gregg Green from noon to 4 p.m. and Michael Stropelli from 6 to 9 p.m. before Warner Parker closes things out Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

Friday Night at the Commons

Start your weekend at Friday Night at the Commons on Friday, July 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cleave Street Commons. This free community gathering brings together live music, neighbors, and visitors for a relaxed summer evening in the heart of Estes Park.

Joseph Lingenfelter at the Rockslide Patio Bar

Enjoy live music on the banks of Fall River as Joseph Lingenfelter performs at the Rockslide Patio Bar at the Inn on Fall River on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, from 5 to 9 p.m. If you can’t make it this weekend, don’t worry. Lingenfelter will be performing at Rockslide every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from now until September.

Friday Live Music at Snowy Peaks Winery

Neilson & Nicholson performs live in the tasting room at Snowy Peaks Winery on Friday, July 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. The show is free to attend, but seats in the tasting room fill up quickly, so reservations are advised. Call 970-586-2099 to reserve your table.

Jon Pickett at The Rock Inn

Spend Friday evening with local singer-songwriter Jon Pickett at The Rock Inn Mountain Tavern on July 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. Best known as the bassist and vocalist for Colorado bluegrass band Chain Station, Pickett brings a mix of soulful originals, thoughtful songwriting, and inventive covers to his solo performances.

Rooftop Rodeo

Catch the final two nights of the 2026 Rooftop Rodeo on Friday, July 10, and Saturday, July 11, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Estes Park Events Complex. One of Colorado’s premier professional rodeos, the annual event features two hours of action-packed competition, including bull riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, steer wrestling, and team roping.

A Weekend of Live Music at Bogey’s

Bogey’s Sports Bar keeps the rooftop stage busy all weekend with three nights of live music. Warner Parker kicks things off Friday, July 10, from 9 to 11 p.m., bringing his blend of Americana, country, and acoustic favorites. Great American Nowhere takes over Saturday, July 11, from 9 p.m. to midnight with an evening of laid-back jams, while Buster and the Boomers close out the weekend Sunday, July 12, from 8 to 10 p.m.

Karaoke Night at Lonigans

Take the stage at Lonigans (106 W. Elkhorn Ave.) for its free karaoke night, happening every Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight. It’s the perfect late-night outing for those looking to get their sing on.

Saturday Artisan Market

Browse handcrafted goods and meet local makers during the Saturday Artisan Market at Cleave Street Commons on Saturday, July 11, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The free community event brings together artists, artisans, and creative vendors in the heart of downtown Estes Park, offering everything from handmade gifts and artwork to locally crafted products.

Silent Comedy Movie Festival

Step back into the golden age of cinema during the Silent Comedy Movie Festival at the Historic Park Theatre on Saturday, July 11, from 12:30 to 3 p.m. This installment features the silent comedy classics “Fluttering Hearts,” “The Butcher Boy,” and “The Rink,” all accompanied live by pianist Scott “Flyin’ Fingers” Wilseck on the theatre’s historic stage. Arrive early to enjoy a pre-show ragtime performance, then stick around for a Q&A during intermission and after the films. Tickets are $17, and one child is admitted free with each paying adult.

17th Avenue All-Stars at Performance Park

The Fine Arts Guild of the Rockies presents a free family-friendly concert by the 17th Avenue All-Stars at Performance Park on Saturday, July 11, at 7 p.m. The Denver-based all-vocal group brings nearly four decades of harmony, humor, and musical invention to the stage, blending jazz, R&B, rock, pop, and hip-hop with real-time looping and rich a cappella arrangements. Bring your own seating, snacks, and drinks for an easygoing evening of live music in the park.

Sundays at the Commons

Slow down and enjoy a laid-back afternoon at Sundays at the Commons on Sunday, July 12, from noon to 4 p.m. at Cleave Street Commons. This free community gathering offers a welcoming space to relax, connect with neighbors, and enjoy family-friendly activities. 

Sarah Minto-Sparks at The Rock Inn

Close out the holiday weekend with an evening of country and folk music from Sarah Minto-Sparks at The Rock Inn Mountain Tavern on Sunday, July 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. Backed by her expressive vocals and acoustic guitar, Minto-Sparks delivers a heartfelt mix of country and folk songs in the cozy mountain setting. Admission is free, making it an easy way to wind down the long weekend with live local music.

Sunday Dinner Live Music at Lonigans

Wrap up the weekend with good food, craft cocktails, and live tunes at Lonigans (106 W. Elkhorn Ave.). Every Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., the pub hosts free live music in a family-friendly setting.
