Supporting Scott Bottoms in the GOP primary race for governor

With Juneteenth upon us (freedom from slavery) and the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (freedom from the British Empire), I’ve been thinking a lot about freedom. Colorado is not in great shape in that regard.

We’ve fallen from the fourth freest state in 2014 to the nineteenth in 2026 (see freedomeinthe50states.org). Our laws have been shot down by SCOTUS several times for violating free speech. Businesses are leaving the state due to our voluminous regulations.

I went searching for someone in our legislature who champions freedom and found Rep. Scott Bottoms, who’s running for governor. During his time in office, he’s earned the top mark (98/100) on the Colorado Liberty Scorecard, which measures lawmakers on key Constitutional principles: individual rights, free markets, and limited government.

I’ve met him several times and believe he can close our $1.5 billion budget shortfall (he gets the highest mark from the Colorado Union of Taxpayers). He’s already shown that he’s intent on punishing child traffickers, protecting girls’ sports and parental rights, as well as restoring trust in our elections.

The primary is June 30, and if you cherish freedom, I hope you’ll join me in supporting Rep. Scott Bottoms for governor.
