A&E: This Weekend, June 12-14

If this weekend feels unusually woolly, that’s because one of Estes Park’s biggest annual traditions is back. The Wool Market returns to the Events Complex, while the Art Center opens its annual fiber arts exhibition just down the road. Beyond the fiber festivities, the calendar is packed with live music, a swim-in movie, rosé celebrations, and a new historical drama at the Park Theatre. Here’s what’s happening around Estes Park this weekend, June 12-14:

‘Pressure’ comes to the Park Theatre

It’s 72 hours until D-Day, and the fate of the entire mission is up to one person: a weatherman. In this historical political drama now playing at the Historic Park Theatre, General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser) and meteorologist Captain James Stagg (Andrew Scott) debate whether to launch the largest seaborne attack in history or postpone due to potentially disastrous weather. In addition, the Park Theatre will host haunted history tours on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13, as well as a history tour on Saturday, June 13.

‘FACE of Fiber’ & ‘Journey Through Colors and Textures‘

Enjoy a vibrant mix of fiber art and painting when the Art Center of Estes Park opens “FACE of Fiber” and “Journey Through Colors and Textures” on Friday, June 12. The exhibition pairs the annual fiber arts showcase with work by Astrid Paustian, whose paintings and mixed-media pieces span oil, acrylic, and fiber. Known for her abstract approach to landscapes and sense of place, Paustian’s colorful works complement the texture-rich creations featured in the fiber exhibition. An opening reception with wine and snacks will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday. The show remains on view daily through July 11.

Flick N Float: ‘The Little Mermaid’

Trade a regular movie night for a swim-in screening during Flick N Float on Friday, June 12, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Estes Valley Community Center. Guests can float in the lap pool while watching “The Little Mermaid” on a big screen, with shave ice available from Kona Ice to complete the summer experience. Tickets are $18 per person, with guardians required to attend with children ages 8 and younger.

Friday Live Music at Snowy Peaks Winery

Jon Pickett at The Rock Inn

Jon Pickett, a Chain Station member and local musician, will take over The Rock Inn on Friday, June 12, from 5-8 p.m. His performances feature a mix of soulful, fun originals and creative covers. Admission to the show is free.

Flying A’s at American Legion Post 119

Start the weekend with live music from Flying A’s at American Legion Post 119 on Friday, June 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. The free performance is part of the Legion’s weekly Friday night music series. Arrive early for happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m., grab dinner from the tavern menu, and stick around for the Queen of Hearts drawing at 7 p.m.

Parrish Heights Live at Bogey’s

Head to the rooftop at Bogey’s Sports Bar on Friday, June 12, from 7 to 9 p.m. for an evening of live music with Parrish Heights. The local group brings an energetic mix of crowd-pleasing tunes and mountain-town charm to one of Estes Park’s favorite outdoor stages.

Karaoke Night at Lonigans

Wool Market Returns to Estes Park

Fiber artists, knitters, spinners, and animal lovers will gather at the Estes Park Events Complex for the annual Wool Market on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, 14, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event brings together natural fiber producers, educators, retailers, and craftspeople from across the region. Visitors can browse vendor booths, meet fiber-producing animals, learn new skills, and explore everything from raw fleece to finished handmade goods. Now in its 35th year, the Wool Market remains one of Estes Park’s most beloved annual traditions.

Rosé All Weekend at Avant Garde Aleworks

Raise a glass to summer during Rosé All Weekend at Avant Garde Aleworks on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14. Celebrating National Rosé Day with two days of specials, the event features multiple rosé offerings and nonalcoholic options. Visitors can also enjoy food trucks throughout the weekend, live music from The Flyin’ A’s on Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. as part of its Summer Concert Series, and a “Rosé for a Cause” fundraiser.

Jason Hicks at The Rock Inn

Bluegrass fans can catch an intimate performance by Jason Hicks of the Blue Canyon Boys at The Rock Inn on Saturday, June 13, from 5 to 8 p.m. A respected guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist, Hicks draws inspiration from bluegrass pioneers such as Don Reno and Norman Blake while bringing his own distinctive style to the stage.

Greg Miles and Friends at Bogey’s

Spend the evening on the rooftop at Bogey’s Sports Bar with Greg Miles and Friends on Saturday, June 13, from 7 to 9 p.m. Known for his sharp songwriting, eclectic musical tastes, and playful sense of humor, the Estes Park artist will be joined by fellow musicians for a lively set overlooking downtown.

Martin Gilmore Trio at Listening at the Legion

The Listening at the Legion concert series welcomes the Martin Gilmore Trio to American Legion Post 119 on Sunday, June 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. Known for his soulful voice, exceptional guitar work, and deep connection to traditional folk music, Gilmore is a veteran touring musician who has shared stages with artists including Judy Collins, Stephen Stills, and The Infamous Stringdusters.
