Larimer County is seeking community members to help shape policies and services for older adults through the Larimer County Office on Aging Advisory Council.

The council advises the Larimer County Office on Aging on issues affecting older residents and family caregivers and helps guide planning under the federal Older Americans Act. Officials are encouraging applications from people involved in aging support services, healthcare, advocacy, or those who can help represent underserved populations.

The advisory council includes 12 to 18 members serving three-year terms beginning July 1. Members are expected to attend monthly meetings and committee sessions and contribute about two to four hours per month.

Council responsibilities include reviewing community programs and policies affecting older adults, helping identify unmet needs among seniors, supporting development of the county’s area plan for aging services, and assisting in the review of funding applications from service providers.

Applicants must live in Larimer County and be available to attend meetings during regular business hours. Monthly council meetings are generally held on the second Thursday of each month from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Applications are due Wednesday, May 27. Interviews will take place during the first week of June.

More information and applications are available through the Larimer County Office on Aging Advisory Council webpage.
