Trustee Talk April 23 at the Estes Park Senior Citizens Center
Mayor Gary Hall and Trustee Mark Igel will host a Trustee Talk on Thursday, April 23, at 10:30 a.m. at the Estes Park Senior Citizens Center, 1760 Olympian Lane. This is the first of two Trustee Talks to be held at the Estes Park Senior Citizens Center this year, with the second session planned for November. Trustee Talks provide an opportunity for community members to discuss local issues with board members in an informal setting.
Arbor Day free plant giveaway Saturday
The Town of Estes Park will mark Arbor Day 2026 with a free plant giveaway Saturday, distributing 400 chokecherry saplings and 1,500 native perennials to the public.
The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, or while supplies last, at the Parks Division greenhouse, 600 Big Thompson Ave. Attendees are asked to park at the Estes Park Visitor Center, 500 Big Thompson Ave., and follow posted signs to the distribution site.
Plants will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of two trees and four perennials per person. A free potting station with soil, containers and planting guidance will be available on site.
Funding for the event was provided by Platte River Power Authority, the town’s wholesale electric provider.
Estes Park was designated a “Tree City USA” community in 2025 by the Arbor Day Foundation, marking its 29th year receiving the recognition.

Larimer County Elections opens “I Voted” sticker contest for public voting
Public voting is now open for Larimer County’s “I Voted” sticker contest, with ballots accepted through Friday, May 1, 2026.
The Larimer County Clerk and Recorder’s Office selected 10 finalists from nearly 100 submissions by high school students across the county. The winning design will be mailed to more than 275,000 active voters for use in the 2026 General Election.
“This contest brings together creativity, civic pride, and community voice in a way that’s truly special,” Clerk and Recorder Tina Harris said in a statement. “Our students have done an incredible job, and now it’s the public’s turn to help select a design that will be seen across Larimer County in the 2026 General Election.”
Community members can view the finalist designs and vote using a ranked-choice ballot available on the Larimer County Elections website. Voters may rank as many or as few designs as they choose. Click here for additional information online about the contest online.
