Two upcoming community fundraisers aim to support individuals facing serious health challenges, with events planned in Estes Park this spring.

A fundraiser for Diego Salgado is scheduled for Sunday, April 12, beginning at noon at Osprey Shelter in Stanley Park. The event will feature food, including barbacoa, carnitas, menudo, desserts, and drinks, with proceeds going toward Salgado’s recovery following an accident in February. Donations can also be made through the Christian Church of Estes Park.

In a separate event, Clint Clymer & Friends, a local nonprofit, will host a fundraising banquet for Longmont veterinarian Dr. John Flinchum, who is battling Stage 4 lung cancer. The banquet is set for Saturday, May 16, from noon to 3 p.m. at El Mex-Kal Family Mexican Restaurant, 160 First St.

The event will include ticket sales and live and silent auctions, with all proceeds benefiting Flinchum. Restaurateurs Ana Luna and Jesus Apodaca donate the venue and food annually to support the fundraiser.

Clint Clymer, an Estes Park native and farrier, organizes the nonprofit’s efforts. Jean Tasker, a founding board member of The Bridge of Estes, is assisting with coordination and promotion. Tasker previously received support from the organization during her own cancer treatment in 2022.
