Hello, Estes Park! This weekend, The Historic Park Theatre reopens for the season with a new sci-fi release and the return of its popular tours, while stages across town fill with live music, from intimate acoustic sets to a full-blown swing revival at The Stanley. Add in March Madness watch parties, a community theater opening, and a packed slate of Sunday happenings, and you’ve got a weekend that balances big energy with laid-back mountain charm. Here’s what’s on deck around town this weekend, March 20-22:

After being closed for the winter season, the Historic Park Theatre opens its doors this Friday, March 20, with the new Ryan Gosling-led sci-fi flick “Project Hail Mary.” The film follows a science teacher who awakens on a spaceship with no memory of who he is or how he got there and must figure out how to prevent the sun from dying. On Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22, the venue’s history and ghost tours return. This will be the first season under Whimsadoodle, Inc.’s leadership, who signed a lease and management agreement to take over the venue in December 2025.

Catch the biggest moments of March Madness at Bogey’s Sports Bar, where the tournament action will be on full display all weekend. With multiple TVs, cold drafts, and classic game-day fare, it’s the perfect place to watch the first and second rounds of the tournament. Fans are encouraged to rep their teams, bring friends and make a day of it as the competition heats up.

The Fine Arts Guild of the Rockies brings the cult-favorite musical Little Shop of Horrors to the stage, blending dark comedy, catchy tunes and a delightfully twisted tale. The show follows Seymour, a down-on-his-luck florist who discovers a mysterious plant with a dangerous appetite that grows with every drop of blood it’s fed. Performances run March 20-22 at Estes Park High School (with additional dates the following weekend), giving audiences the opportunity to see this quirky classic live in Estes Park.

Marking the 30th anniversary of their breakout album Hot, the band will perform the record in full along with fan favorites from their eclectic, jazz-infused catalog. The high-energy concert is part of a larger weekend of themed events, from late-night New Orleans-style jams to a jazz brunch and exclusive fan experiences. Expect a lively, horn-driven night that channels the spirit of a Prohibition-era party in one of Estes Park’s most iconic settings.
