Volunteers sought to help measure nighttime light
Visit Estes Park is planning a Dark Sky Measurement Night at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13, with a backup date on Tuesday, April 14, in case of poor weather. There will be a brief training and equipment distribution at the Estes Park Memorial Observatory before volunteers head out to assigned locations to take measurements. Some volunteers may be out until approximately 10:30 p.m.
Volunteers will help collect night sky brightness data at various locations in Estes Park using a simple handheld device provided by VEP to collect data that will support dark sky awareness and conservation efforts in the Estes Valley. Volunteers are asked to be available on both evenings. Click here to register.
