Editor’s note, Dec. 6, 2025: The Park Hospital District website links back to a website for the former Estes Park Health, which in turn has a link to the meeting dates for the 2025 Park Hospital District meetings. On that site, a PDF states that the December 2025 meeting will be held on Dec. 10 at 5:30 in the Estes Park Town Board meeting room. A public notice, however, published on Oct. 15, linked to the Colorado Press Association’s Public Notice website, states that the meeting will be held on Dec. 11.
After the acquisition of Estes Park Health into the UCHealth healthcare system four days ago, the Park Hospital District now has a new WordPress website.
It’s clear that the special district, which is a governmental entity with the power to impose a tax levy on property owners, is in the midst of transition, although the board has had months to prepare for moving forward on its own as a government body.
The new skeleton website only links to the original, existing EPH site, despite Estes Park Hospital no longer existing since UCHealth acquired it on Monday.
The website has headers that link to the board members’ biographies, past EPH Board meeting information, details about the May 2025 board election, and historic information about the district.
The district’s website also informs viewers that the Park Hospital District has an email address, info@parkhospitaldistrict.org.
A prominent notice at the top of the new PHD website page says, “Announcement: more info coming soon – meeting date & minutes will be posted here.” According to a PDF on the Estes Park Health Board’s website, the PHD Board will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the Town Board meeting room at Town Hall at 5:30 p.m. to approve the EPH 2026 budget, which is due by law on Dec. 15. That budget has not been posted for public review.
At a recent meeting of the board, Vice Chair Steve Alper said the town board room had been secured for meetings for the next six months.
The Park Hospital District’s website does not explain how questions about the district’s business will be managed or who is the designated custodian of records for Colorado Open Records requests.
When the phone number listed on the website is called, 970-982-0212, an answering machine with an AI voice answers and tells the caller that the voice mailbox has not been set up and instructs callers to try to call back later.
According to minutes from an Oct. 24 “special session”, which were posted online and then removed from the Estes Park Board’s website, the Park Hospital District Board had discussed hiring Linda Lambert as an administrative assistant; however, that hiring fell through, and as of right now, the PHD does not have any hired or contract staff.
Also unknown are the specifics of how and when an office for the district will be open. The board had discussed leasing office space at Vert Coworking, but no formal vote was taken on this matter.
