Hello, Estes Park! From family-friendly storytime and live music to fall shopping deals and spooky movie nights, Estes Park is buzzing with ways to spend the weekend. Whether you’re catching a new film at the Historic Park Theatre, lending a hand at the RMNP cleanup during the government shutdown, or browsing art and local treasures, there’s something happening for everyone. Here are this weekend’s highlights.
Playing Now at the Historic Park Theatre
This weekend, the Historic Park Theatre opens “TRON: Ares” (2025). The film, starring Jared Leto, is the third installment in the “TRON” series and a direct sequel to “TRON: Legacy” from 2010. It centers on an AI program that exits the digital world and has received mixed reviews thus far, but you can make up your own mind by seeing it at the Park Theatre beginning Friday, Oct. 10. The venue is also hosting a free screening of the 2012 Christopher Nolan movie “The Dark Knight Rises” at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 11, if superheroes are more your speed. Beyond the movies, the Park Theatre is hosting Haunted Ghost Tours and History Tours that dig into Estes Park’s spooky past.
Karaoke at Lonigans
Grab the mic and sing your heart out at Lonigans (106 W. Elkhorn Ave.), where Karaoke Night takes over Friday, Oct. 10, and Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 p.m. to midnight. It’s free to join, making it the perfect late-night outing with friends, family, and plenty of sing-along fun. If you have other plans, don’t worry; this is a weekly event, so you’ll have another chance to grab the microphone next week.
Storytime with Danielle Sarli at Macdonald Book Shop
Bring the kids to Macdonald Book Shop (152 E. Elkhorn Ave.) on Saturday, Oct. 11, from 9 to 10 a.m. for a special storytime with climber, educator, and author Danielle Sarli. She’ll read and sing from her book The Little Climber, which follows a young girl who discovers her strength by scaling everything from furniture to mountains. The half-hour program will be followed by a Q&A, making it a fun and inspiring morning for families. Free to attend.
RMNP Trash Pickup at Moraine Park
Lend a hand in keeping Rocky Mountain National Park beautiful during a volunteer trash cleanup in Moraine Park, hosted by YMCA of the Rockies. Meet at 2515 Tunnel Rd. at 8:30 a.m. on Oct. 11–12 and again Oct. 18–19 for guided hikes that combine scenic views with litter collection. Trash bags are provided; volunteers should bring water, snacks, sun protection, and sturdy footwear. Free and open to all, this is an easy and rewarding way to give back to the park this fall.
Estes Arts District Pop-Up Fundraiser
Support the local arts community and score great deals at the Estes Arts District Pop-Up Fundraiser, happening weekends this fall. Stop by the green building down the alley at 143 E. Elkhorn Ave. from 12 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 11–12, 18–19, and 25 for a 50% off indoor “sidewalk sale.” Items include holiday gifts, home décor, curios, and even some furniture, generously donated from the former Wonderful Things gift shop. All proceeds benefit Estes Park’s arts community.
Annual Fall Sidewalk Sale
The Estes Chamber of Commerce brings back its Annual Fall Sidewalk Sale on Saturday, Oct. 11, and Sunday, Oct. 12, with businesses across the Estes Valley offering special discounts, seasonal merchandise, and festive fall fun. From downtown boutiques to neighborhood shops, it’s the perfect chance to discover unique local treasures while supporting Estes Park businesses.
Greg Miles Live on the Roof
Catch Estes Park musician Greg Miles performing live on the rooftop at Bogey’s Sports Bar (281 W. Riverside Dr.) on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. Known for his soulful sound and heartfelt performances, Miles sings everything from blues, torch songs, 16th-century liturgical music, and Mexican ballads
Sunday Dinner Live Music at Lonigans
Wrap up the weekend with good food, craft cocktails, and live tunes at Lonigans (106 W. Elkhorn Ave.). Every Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m., the pub hosts free live music with a side of storytelling in a family-friendly setting. A perfect way to end the week on a relaxed note.
“Reflections of the West” – Art Center of Estes Park
The Art Center of Estes Park member show, “Reflections of the West,” features watercolor works by Connie Schmidt and pastel and oil pieces by Pat Sebern. The free exhibit runs daily through Nov. 10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 517 Big Thompson Ave.
