Hello, Estes Park community. It’s officially October, which means it’s the unofficial kick-off to spooky season, and this weekend offers the perfect mix of art, music, and seasonal fun. From gallery openings and First Friday.

From the First Friday Art Groove to free live concerts and the family-favorite Pumpkins and Pilsners festival, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

If you’re looking for spooky vibes, the Historic Park Theatre has a lineup of Halloween films and ghost tours, while Elktoberfest keeps the steins clinking downtown. Whether you spend your weekend soaking up local art, dancing to disco funk, or picking the perfect pumpkin, Estes Park is buzzing with ways to celebrate the season.

The Art Center of Estes Park unveils its newest member show, “Reflections of the West,” featuring watercolor works by Connie Schmidt and pastel and oil pieces by Pat Sebern. The exhibit runs daily from Oct. 3 to Nov. 10, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 517 Big Thompson Ave. An opening reception will be held Friday, Oct. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. with refreshments and door prizes—entries accepted Oct. 3 to 6, with winners announced after the drawing. Free and open to the public.

The Historic Park Theatre is packed with Halloween fun this weekend, offering several films and ghostly adventures under one roof. Highlights include the second weekend of Stephen King’s “The Long Walk,” plus free screenings of “Casper” (celebrating its 30th anniversary) and “Nosferatu” (2024). Beyond the movies, visitors can join Haunted Ghost Tours and History Tours for a deeper dive into Estes Park’s eerie past. With much of the programming free, it’s the perfect spot to soak up spooky season in true historic style.

Take a stroll through Estes Park’s creative side during FIRST FRIDAY! With more than a dozen stops along the route, including breweries, wineries, and artisan shops, it’s a perfect evening to discover what’s new in the local arts scene. Free to attend.
