Jacobs is the general contractor and owner of Estes Park Alpine Construction, a general contracting company specializing in custom mountain builds. Jacobs has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry and more than a decade of experience in Estes Park.

The Chamber will help two businesses celebrate this week with red ribbon cuttings. The Outlaws and Legends Steakhouse at the Seven Keys Lodge will host a ribbon cutting Wednesday, Sept. 10, from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and the Bank of Estes Park will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a ribbon cutting Friday, Sept. 12, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The ribbon cutting will officially open the new “Bank of Estes Park Then and Now” Conference and Community Room. The Bank of Estes Park will present its annual Golden Antler Award to two recipients. Each award includes a $5,000 grant to local non-profits.

Cowboy Troubadour Vic Anderson will present a free lunchtime concert at the Estes Park Senior Citizens Center Tuesday, Sept. 9, from noon to 1:30 p.m. Individuals who would like to order lunch can call the EPSCC at (970) 581-2195 to place an order by 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8. The meal is $9 for EPSCC members and $12 for nonmembers. The EPSCC is located at 1760 Olympian Lane. The presentation is sponsored by Renee Hodgden, a National Association of Realtors-certified Senior Real Estate Specialist. She works with RE/MAX Mountain Brokers.

The Estes Valley Fire Protection District will host its third 9/11 Memorial 5K and Stair Climb Sept. 11. The event honors the lives of those lost 24 years ago and supports the families of firefighters nationwide through the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation. The fundraising goal is $10,000.

The 5K is a walk or run around Lake Estes. The distance symbolizes the run that FDNY Firefighter Stephen Siller made from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center, where he lost his life in the service of others.

The stair climb takes place at the Estes Park Visitor Center Parking Garage, where participants can climb one story or 110 — the height of the World Trade Center. Participants are encouraged to climb what they can, whether one story or all 110. Click here to register or donate.
