The Estes Valley Fire District Board spent more than an hour in executive session this morning at a special meeting to consult with its attorney on two matters. They sought legal advice related to a “personnel matter related to Chief Paul Capo,” who was placed on administrative leave in June, and to “receive legal advice on specific legal questions regarding settlement negotiations.”
After exiting from executive session and returning to a public meeting, the board voted to appoint two board members, Sandi Smith, board chair, and Jon “Hippy” Smith, to negotiate the settlement.
No timetable was set for the settlement negotiations.
