Estes Valley voters were in the mood for full sweep changes when they cast their ballots for special district board of directors on Tuesday. While there were few incumbents running for office, none were reelected.
Winners in the Park Hospital District race were Thomas E. Leigh with 1,189 votes and Janet E. Zeschin who received 1,043 votes.
Five new Estes Valley Fire Protection District board members were chosen. Four-year positions will be filled by Scott Dorman, 337 votes, Jeff Robbins, 236 votes, and Jon “Hippy” Smith, 203 votes. Two-year terms were won by Sandra Ellen Smith, 178 votes, and Ryan Leahy 187 votes.
Derek Vinge was the top vote-getter in the Estes Valley Recreation and Park District Race with 314 ballots cast in his favor. Aaron Dorman, who received 288 votes will fill the second open spot.
The results in each election are not considered official until they are certified on May 20.
Congratulations to all, but particularly to Tom Leigh and Janet Zeschin, who will bring much-needed change to the Estes Park Hospital board.
