Are the views and values of PEP aligned with those of working families in EP?

I wish to remain anonymous, but I am an educator and full-time resident of Estes Park.

I was reading an article, the Point-Counterpoint commentary on rezoning, and I was fascinated with the commentary.

I did some digging and found that Terry Rustin is part of this vocal group called Preserve Estes Park. Looking through the Estes Valley Voice website I see PEP pop up on a few articles, and one about a ballot initiative.

What bothered me about the commentary by Mr. Rustin is that his views seemed to be about the exclusivity of Estes Park. You can see it within his commentary.

His views seemed to be less about smart rezoning and instead more about Estes being for a certain group of people.

His quote, “housing units themselves are not vibrant individuals from families.” What does that even mean? It seem contradictory to their stated goals from their website?

With the ballot initiative coming forward, I was wondering if the Estes Valley Voice could do an article on PEP itself so that voters coming into the election can have an extended background on the views of the group and the initiative being pushed.

Is it possible their views and values may or may not be aligned with the values of working families in this town?
