Win Pixel, the Estes Valley Voice’s snowman who lives in a magical snow globe

As the Town of Estes celebrates the joy of Snowman Fest this weekend, enter to win Pixel. Take the Estes Valley Voice Favorite Snowman Survey to tell us who your favorite snowman is and be entered in a New Year’s Eve drawing to win Pixel, the Estes Valley Voice’s favorite snowman tucked inside a magical snow globe.
Pixel, the Estes Valley Voice’s favorite snowman, is named in honor of how the Estes Valley Voice is published — we publish in pixels not in ink on paper to tell the many stories of the Estes Valley.
Pixel has joined in the fun of the Snowman Fest, a magical winter celebration of fun in a town that sparkles and twinkles this time of year with snowflakes, holiday lights, and majestic views of the Rocky Mountains.
It may be cold outside this time of year, but Pixel says there are so many opportunities in Estes to make memories that will warm your heart and make you smile. Take the Snowman Survey and have a chance to take Pixel home with you.
Prescribed Burn planned for Monday

Rocky Mountain National Park is planning either pile burning or a prescribed burn on Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, depending on weather and fuels conditions.
Fire managers at RMNP may burn either a 60-acre section of the Headquarters Prescribed Fire Unit west of the Beaver Meadows Visitor Center and South of U.S. Highway 36, or conduct a pile burning operation near Wild Basin which will be visible from Colorado Highway 7.
Fire managers determine which fire operation will take place. Burn operations only occur when weather and conditions allow. Firefighters will be on scene for the duration of either operation and will patrol throughout the day and overnight.
The operations near the Beaver Meadows Entrance to RMNP may cause delays or road closures that will divert inbound and outbound traffic through Fall River Entrance. Additional information will be shared on InciWeb at https://inciweb.wildfire.gov/…/cormp-front-country… and on RMNP’s official social media channels. NPS staff will be available at Beaver Meadows Visitor Center to answer questions.
Smoke from either burn operation may be visible both inside and outside the park and may linger and accumulate in low-lying areas during the evening.
Smoke may affect your health: For more information see https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/cdphe/wood-smoke-and-health.
Safety factors, weather conditions, air quality, personnel availability and environmental regulations are continually monitored as part of any fire management operation. For more information, contact the park Information Office at (970) 586-1206.
