Estes Nonprofit Network named 2024 award winner.

Some 350 community members gathered last week at the YMCA of the Rockies for the annual Estes Nonprofit Network’s National Philanthropy Day in Estes Park to recognize businesses, community members, and organizations that have exemplified a spirit of philanthropy in the Estes Valley. 

This year’s honorees in the following five categories are: 

Business Philanthropist of the Year: Egg of Estes, owned by Ania and Ryan Leahy.

The nominees included Estes Park News; Quality Inn of Estes Park, Jurgens Family; TDS Telecom; Estes Park Mountain Shop; Richardson Team Realty, Mindy Stone and Mike Richardson.

Katie Speer Individual Philanthropist: Autumn Nelson

The nominees included Anastacia “Staci” Galloway Reed, Bobbie Heisterkamp, One Hundred Women Who Care – Mary Liz Adair, Sue McDermott, Lisa Zahn, Janet Collison.

Youth Philanthropist: Dawn Nguyen

The other nominee included Youth In Action.

Enduring Service: Sally and Wayne Park

The other nominees included Gregg Jurgens; Amy and Todd Plummer.

Nonprofit of the Year: League of Women Voters of Estes Park, Estes Park’s Community Recycling Committee 

The nominees included Crossroads Ministry of Estes Park; Estes Park Senior Citizens Center, Inc.; Estes Valley Crisis Advocates; Estes Valley Land Trust; Partners; United Way of Larimer County.

The Estes Nonprofit Network, which rebranded in February, connects some 100 nonprofit and charitable organizations that provide service to the Estes Valley.

In 2023, nonprofits in the Estes Valley reported $72 million in revenue on 990 tax forms. The organization launched an economic impact study in September to assess the impact of the local nonprofit sector on the Estes Valley economy.

To date, with 80% of area nonprofits included, the impact on the local economy based on 990s filed in 2024 is $103 million.
