Musicians in Estes have organized a fundraiser for fellow musician and music producer Kevin Dennis, who was diagnosed this summer with osteosarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone cancer most often diagnosed in teenagers. Dennis has had three rounds of chemotherapy and is facing mounting bills.
As a multi-talented artist, gifted bass player, guitarist, singer, and band leader, Dennis has led and played with many area music groups over the years including the Dennis Tobias Band, Mountain Town Rockers, and most recently, Blue Sky Mountain Band. Additionally, he has written and recorded a variety of songs in the folk and classic rock genre, in the style of The Beatles, The Eagles, The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, CCR, and The Doobie Brothers, to name a few. Until recently, he has also been a tour guide for Green Jeep Tours.
โKevin is one of the most caring, generous, and gifted musicians I know,โ says fellow band member Brett Wilson. “Iโm grateful for the opportunity we have as a community to give back to my longtime dear friend.โ
Musicians lined up to perform include Share the Road, Neilson and Nicholson, Buster and the Boomers, Plucky and Skeets, Brad Fitch, and some โspecial guests.โ
The event will be held at the American Legion Post 119 from 4 to 8 p.m. on today with 25% of bar sales set aside to support Dennis.
