“Give a Coat, Share the Warmth” Along with darker skies in the morning accompanied by cooler seasonal temperatures, there’s no doubt it won’t be long before folks will be digging for cold season gear before heading outside.
Another one of the signs of changing seasons is the annual community coat drive coordinated by Crossroads Ministry. “Give a Coat, Share the Warmth” begins with people throughout the Estes Park area donating clean, gently used or new winter outwear to the annual coat drive. Donated items are intended for anyone who needs them.
Coats, scarves, hats, gloves and mittens can be dropped off at Crossroads Ministry, 1753 Wildfire Rd., between September 9 and 27. Distribution will occur on Friday, October 4 from 10 a.m.to 1 p.m. For more information call Crossroads Ministry at 970-577-6773 or email aaron.crossroadsep@gmailcom
Flatirons Community Church will begin meeting at the Historic Park Theater for services beginning this Sunday, Sept. 1 at 10 a.m. The church community has been meeting at the Reel Mountain Theater over the past three years but as that theater closes its door, services will now be held downtown. The Estes Park faith group is affiliated with the main campus of Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette. The Historic Park Theater is located at 130 Moraine Ave in Estes Park. The Estes Chamber is launching a new program, Member Mondays, to spotlight businesses in the Estes Valley and give them a forum to highlight a particular aspect of their businesses that makes them unique. The program launches on Sept. 2 on the Estes Chamber’s social media platform and in their e-newsletter. Businesses interested in participating are invited to contact the Chamber. A team member will come to the business and record a short, 60-second segment that will be edited for distribution through their digital channels.
